KATIE ZAFERES

I am originally from Hampstead, Maryland, but am currently a Californian. I've been doing triathlon professionally since 2013. I am fortunate enough to get to do this adventure all with my husband, Tommy Zaferes by my side. In the last few years I have climbed the World Triathlon Series Rankings from 5th in 2015, 4th in 2016, 3rd in 2017 to finishing 2nd in 2018. In 2019 I won 5 WTS races including the Grand Final in Lausanne to become World Champion.

 In 2016 I had the opportunity to race at the Rio Olympics where I fell short of my goals finishing 18th. However that experience led me to really fine tune my mental and physical strategies and gave me a clarity in what I desired and what I needed to work on. My next goal is to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and I'm excited to continue to be a part of the JFT Crew under Joel Filliol in my attempt to get there!
